In the land of cured meats, chorizo and prosciutto, you'd figure there'd be no room for animal-loving vegetarians in the mix. Turns out Barcelonians do like to take a break from the protein, especially on incredibly hot days. A perfect option for hearty vegetarian fare can be found at Vegetalia, located in the colourful Plaça de George Orwell.

Although I am a carinvore to the core, something about the cool eclectic vibe and drones of artists slothed out on the patio drew me into this hole-in-the-wall.

I had ordered a quinoa risotto and my sister had the paella and both were great portions and delicious. I would definitely recommend and also revisit this spot for an easy early dinner.
