Fish and Seafood on Another Level

Merchants, pilgrims, and warriors have gone out of their way to visit Akko over the centuries. If foodies have joined that list in recent years, it’s thanks to this innovative fish-and-seafood restaurant. Housed in a 400-year-old Ottoman house with vaulted ceilings and attractively peeling walls, it’s made an international name for itself with dishes such as caramelized tilapia and scallops in creamy ginger sauce thickly flecked with seaweed. Experimenters and indecisive types rejoice: everything on the menu is available in a half-portion.
