Relax in an Old Mill
Founded in the late 1880s, this former flour mill produced top-grade wheat and rye for decades, but now the century-old, five-storey grain silo has been turned into one of the most original venues in Sweden
, the work of Kerstin Söderlund and her family. Kerstin also doubles as the project leader for the Dalsland stretch of Pilgrimsleden, or Pilgrim Trail, a route used by medieval pilgrims on their way to and from Trondheim in Norway
. Modern day travelers will find Upperud an equally appreciated resting place – and a great venue for local events, ranging from pub nights and jazz concerts to the annual Evening of Light when lanterns and fires are lit all around the lake.
