The menu boasts dainty crudo, French macarons, and truffle ravioli. Views of downtown Houston spread out below. The dress code is upscale (no baseball hats, gents). It's no wonder that Up is a favorite restaurant for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. Of course, you don't need any excuse to sample the classic American menu, although the chef is happy to give you a few reasons to make reservations: Monday is "48-Hour Buttermilk Fried Chicken" night, paella's the thing on Wednesdays, it's osso buco on Thursday and, on Fridays, there's Mediterranean sea bass. With those temptations, there's really no excuse not to visit.
