Universal Orlando’s newest theme park, Volcano Bay, opened in May 2017, and the rave reviews have been flowing in as fast as a whoosh down one of the water park’s many speedy rides. Built to resemble some far-flung Pacific paradise where the fictional “Waturi” islanders dwell, the park’s action centers on a tropical bay for swimming backed with, you guessed it, a volcanic peak (the Fire and Water Volcano). Among the most thrilling rides here are the Ko’okiri Body Plunge, a slide that sends you plummeting 125 feet more or less straight down in a glass tube, and the Krakatau Aqua Coaster, a mix of a water ride and a speedy roller coaster. As far as water parks go, this one officially takes the cake.
