With more than 65 scuba sites rimming the island, Curaçao is a diver’s paradise. But it’s equally welcoming to aquatic adventurers who aren’t certified. Take a selfie with a dolphin via Ocean Encounters’ open-water dolphin dive—which takes place in an enclosed lagoon and includes a brief intro to scuba diving—or book a turtle or shark feeding at the Sea Aquarium. For the most entertaining photo of them all, though, hop aboard an Aquafari underwater scooter where you’ll be assigned your own self-propelled submersible and get to cruise through the deep blue sea. As you reach depths of 21 feet, you’ll spy marine life of all kinds: tarpons, parrotfish, jacks, angels, and maybe even a ray or two.
