A Walk through the Roses
The largest rose garden in the nation can be found in the charming town of Tyler. The Tyler Municipal Rose Garden has over 14 acres filled with more than 600 different varieties of roses here, separated into sections like the Sensory Garden and the Heritage Garden (where some of the varietals date back to the 1800s), so the paths wind through hues of reds, pinks, yellows, and whites. For over 100 years, roses have been a key part of Tyler's commercial and social scenes, and each October, the city hosts the Texas Rose Festival and Rose Parade, complete with a Rose Queen and court.
