Savory crêpes are known as galettes and made from buckwheat flour which is naturally gluten free. Galettes and crêpes are a regional specialty from Brittany, just like the trains that arrive at the Gare Montparnasse, which explains why there are so many in the quartier around the station. Using buckwheat ground to their specifications and artisanal garnishes, Ty Breiz serves some of the city’s best galettes in a wood trimmed dining room that is full of memorabilia from the seaside. In the fall, fresh girolle mushroom galettes are irresistible whereas lemon sugar crêpes hit the right note of refreshing sweetness in any season.
