There is much more to Bali than Ubud and Seminyak. Beyond the volcano lays the village of Tulamben, the truly quiet side of the island. This is a place to relax at small hotels, eat great food, enjoy the view of the black pebble beach and the volcano. Diving here is a feast for the eyes, from the famous Liberty wreck to the best macro photography at Seraya Secrets. This is a side of Bali worth discovering.

Bali on Back Roads
Bali is a beautiful and majestic place, but to see it that way you have to get away from the crowds, out of town, and into the middle of nowhere... Rent a motorbike and take back roads to smaller less touristed towns for great deals on food and accommodation and spectacular views. In Tulamben, just a few hours outside of the hectic city of Kuta, you will find peaceful, simple ocean-side resorts with beautiful gardens and SCUBA diving literally just outside your door. Rent a tank and gear and swim out to the Liberty Wreck, a sunken WWII ship with some awesome coral life, tons of fish, sharks, nudis, turtles, eels and more, just a few yards off shore!
