Tsingtao Beer Museum

Tsingtao Beer Museum

The Tsingtao Beer Museum is housed in the company’s original two-story, redbrick factory, which was constructed in 1903 by German engineers. It offers a permanent exhibition of old black-and-white photographs, brewery equipment and huge copper tans, as well as displays of ingredients such as barley, brown malt and hops. There are also insights into the current factory operations via walkways, and the opportunity to sample brews along the way and buy souvenirs. Tsingtao produces 122 million kegs a year around China, but springwater from the nearby mountain Laoshan is reserved only for the beer it brews in Qingdao.
