I have never seen anything in my life like the cotton castles in Turkey. It all has to do with the way the minerals interact with hot spring water coming out of the mountain. From a distance, these look to be snowcapped, but when you get closer it's calcified rock. Insiders tip: be sure to take off your shoes and walk through the water of the cotton castles. It is a really unique sensation on your feet because not only is the mineral so smooth, but the water temperature changes often. It ranges from cool to very hot and from ankle deep to knee-deep.
