Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (TAEC)
The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre is an independent museum and social enterprise dedicated to the ethnic cultures of Laos. Located in a historic building in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is the first exhibition space in Laos dedicated to the collection, preservation, and interpretation of its traditional arts and lifestyles. The Centre exhibits ethnic clothing, household objects, and religious artefacts, with detailed information and photographs.
As an advocate for the survival and transmission of the cultural heritage of Laos and a resource for the development of the traditional arts, the Centre is also involved in research, preservation and documentation of cultural artefacts, outreach and education, and livelihoods development.
Museum activities include: Permanent and Special Exhibitions in English and Lao. Translations are available in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese. Resource Library Tours Half-Day Handicraft Workshops Seminars and Special Events Family Activity Centre Patio with Refreshments
