Albuquerque isn't just the town you (and I) drove through on Route 66 over the years. And, its not just the town you fly to just to drive to Santa Fe. Restaurants like Torinos at Home are sprouting up both within the city, and along the I-35 corridor. Of course, New Mexican cooking is still the mainstay, with places like Church Street Cafe in Old Town displaying their love for Hatch chilis. But a visit to Torinos at Home will open your eyes to some serious Italian/Med cuisine. Take this presentation of a skirt steak with an incredible roasted tomato and a cup of traditional fagioli. And, it tasted as good as it looks. The couple who own this new winner are from Europe and know Italian and French cooking. So, next time you make a stop in Albuquerque, look this place up. I bet you'll be as entranced as we were.
