Coast of colors, whales, and food so good it hurts
In February, off the coast of Southern Baja at Todos Santos, the setting sun turned the beach into an artist's palette of pastels after a day of whale-viewing at the steep shore. The hulking creatures came so close to the shoreline that my binoculars sat forgotten in my beach bag. Stay at Casablanca B&B (http://www.casablancabb.com/) with incredibly sweet hosts Isabel and Gabriel. Included with the room rate, Isabel makes a gourmet breakfast of local, organic ingredients each morning--enchiladas with homemade mole, fresh fruit, yogurt, scones, oh my--while Gabriel stands by eager to make you endless coffee drinks with his espresso machine. Eat until you can eat no more and then while away the morning reading in the hammock on the porch before taking a walk to the beach for another showing of whales and spectacular sunset colors. At this time of year, you'll have the whole place nearly to yourself and plenty of quiet time to ponder your beautiful life and wonder how you got to be so lucky.
