A special world unfolds 32 kilometers (20 miles) outside Buenos Aires. On weekends, Porteños head to the town of Tigre, in the vast Paraná River delta, to cruise down the canals and waterways in vintage mahogany motorboats. The Museo de Arte Tigre displays Argentine art from the 19th and 20th centuries in a spectacular Belle Époque mansion that was once a social club and casino. The ample naval history museum merits a visit as well.
