I visited Bhutan in the Spring of 2010, and had the opportunity to climb the mountain trail to Tiger's Nest. Tiger's Nest is a Buddhist sacred site and temple complex, located on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley. To get to this popular site, you walk uphill, ride on horseback, or do a combination of the two. There is a cafeteria and rest area about halfway up the mountain and it is here that I enjoyed a gorgeous panoramic view of the valley below, and this beautiful scene of iconic prayer flags and prayer wheels. The rest at this unforgettable site inspired me for the second half of the strenuous mountain climb.
