Three Flags Tavern

4940 Southwest Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110, USA

Three Flags Day refers to March 8 & 9th in 1804 when the French flag, the Spanish flag and the US flag all flew over St. Louis after the official transfer of the Louisiana Purchase from New Spain to France and then to the United States. The food is a cross of French, Spanish, and Virginian. Remember Thomas Jefferson of Virginia made the purchase. We over-ordered just to properly sample all three counties. The Menu changes so we don’t want to tell you what to try. But you will love it all. The US map on the wall is also from the early 1800’s and emphasizes rivers which were the only transportation of the time. This is a local place, but if you are wanting to experience St. Louis eat history up right here.
