New Brews in an Old Mill
While Santa Barbara might be home to more than 200 wineries, the craft brewery scene is heating up. Kris Parker, the grandson of famed Santa Barbara winemaker and resort owner-operator Fess Parker, is a founder of Third Window Brewing, a craft beer brewery with a self-proclaimed aim "to unearth terroir in beer" housed in a restored barn and feed mill. Third Window has five "forms" of refreshing and inspired brews: dualism (seasonal lagers), farm (farmhouse beers with locally sourced ingredients), voyage (IPAs), abdij (pronounced 'abbey' and an homage to the Trappist dubbles, trippels and quads), and T.W.R (that which is ripe, a.k.a. indigenous seasonals).
