Thien Cung Cave
Thien Cung Cave
Situated on Dau Go island in the southwest part of Halong Bay, Thien Cung (also called Heavenly Cave) is one of the most beautiful of the many caves that dot the bay's limestone islands. A rather strenuous hike from the wharf up to the caves is required and once you get in you will most likely spend about an hour walking through the stalactite- and stalagmite-studded system, which is illuminated by colored lights. Not for the claustrophobic or the physically challenged but definitely worth the effort if you want to see a beautiful show cave that was, according to a local myth, the home of a goddess and her mate.
