One of Christchurch's favorite cafés has expanded from just one renovated Victorian villa to two sitting side by side. The blue and yellow houses are now connected, with more-formal evening dining upstairs and all-day fare downstairs. The menus are full of Kiwi comfort food, especially tempting desserts and coffee drinks. Look for seasonal specialties such as a spiced hot-cross coffee, or try the local craft beers on tap. Good weather brings live music in the courtyard; its location between the rebuilt and reopened Arts Centre and Christchurch Art Gallery makes the Villas a great place to recharge between art stops.
