Sometimes the best experiences are the simplest ones. After a couple of business days in Birmingham, my wife and I rented a car and drove out into the Costwalds. We expected to see charming little towns, which we did, but we did not think we'd be having some of the best food to date this year.
The best meal came up during an afternoon drive through Bibury, which also happened to be the most charming of all the little villages. The Swan Hotel serves up a variety of pub food, all of which comes from locally grown produce & livestock. The chicken livers, illustrated here, were a highlight for us. We followed it with a platter of seafood, which was equally delicious. Paired with a glass of white wine, it was perfection.
