For such a small destination, the Cayman Islands play host to a impressive number of food festivals each year. In addition to Taste of Cayman, which is sponsored by the local tourism board, there's the Cayman Cookout, a food fest organized by celebrity chef Eric Ripert.
Held each year at the Ritz-Carlton over the course of a weekend in mid-January, Cayman Cookout attracts some of the world's most famous chefs, among them Anthony Bourdain, José Andrés, and Michael Mina.
There are wine tastings and champagne brunches and, yes, there is an actual barbecue.
Tickets are on the pricier side, but foodie travelers rave about this annual event, especially as a warm, delicious, star-studded mid-winter break from colder climes.
