The Longest Walking Trail in the Caribbean
There are few better ways to explore Dominica’s breathtaking and sometimes surreal landscapes than by tackling one (or more) segments of the Waitukubuli National Trail. Highlights include Morne Trois Pitons National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its sulphur vents, hot springs, tropical forests, and Trafalgar Falls. One of the island’s most famous trails begins at the park’s Titou Gorge swimming hole and passes through the Valley of Desolation (named for its many thermal vents) before arriving at Boiling Lake, the second largest hot lake in the world. The volcanically heated lake, which measures 200 feet across, bubbles and steams continuously.
