The Kauri Museum

A museum where chainsaws have halos
The Kauri Museum is both fusty, funky, and earnest fun. Yes, they have portraits of chainsaws, yes, dioramas of every component of Kauri logging and gum digging. But it all somehow hangs together and makes for a great stop on the way to see the majestic real thing while contributing even more background to the experience that is New Zealand.
