Nathaniel Hawthorne's House of Seven Gables
The House of Seven Gables (aka the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion) is New England's oldest surviving 17th century wooden mansion. It was also the inspiration of Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel. House tours are available throughout the year. And when you're done exploring the mansion, check out the home where Hawthorne was born— it's just feet away.
