A Bistro to Go
Favored by locals, the House Café is a chain of sophisticated bistros serving food that would look perfectly at home in New York or London, with plenty of classic Turkish dishes on it modern menu. The Ortaköy location is especially popular, with a prime-location terrace right on the Bosphorus. It’s on the expensive side, but that doesn’t stop legions of cosmopolitan locals from whiling away a Sunday afternoon here, letting a full Turkish breakfast turn into coffee and cake and then a few glasses of wine while looking out at the Bosphorus, Ortaköy Mosque, and the Bosphorus Bridge.
