Follow the shoals of sustainable seafood fans up Main Street for a counter lunch at the West Coast’s very first all-sustainable seafood store, The Fish Counter. It has one of the city’s only gluten-free fryers (alongside its regular fryer) cooking up some of the best fish and chips, oyster po’boys and fish tacos in the city. Co-owners Robert Clark and Mike McDermid helped create and launch the Ocean Wise
program, whose logo you’ll see in all good restaurants telling you that the fish on their menu comes from sustainable sources. You can buy seafood here to take away if you’re staying somewhere with cooking facilities but they also have ready-prepped items too for a picnic.
