Farm Fresh Food at Joe's Farm Grill
The sprawling metropolis known as Phoenix is synonymous with stucco structures, its many highways and towering buildings downtown. However, just outside of the city's urban core is Agritopia, an "agri-hood" with deep roots and ties to Arizona's rich agricultural history. Here community comes first, local is best and the food is fresh, especially at Joe's Farm Grill. The retro-restaurant, which used to be the Johnston family home, has been frequented by locals for just over 10 years and celebs like Guy from Food Network's DDD has even stopped by to chat with Joe Johnston and chow down on some homestyle eats. Guests can find a seat indoors or outside amongst the chirping birds under the canopies of trees that have called this farmland home for decades. Just a few steps away is The Coffee Shop, where caffeine-lovers can get their fill of java and espresso. Grab your coffee and explore the territory, walk along the grape vines and check out the community garden, too. And if you happen to grab a bite during citrus season, be sure to ask for the fresh-squeezed orange juice.
