200m² (roughly 2100ft²) in the pricy, northern section of the Marais, is considerable space to fill when you're an upstart concept store but the trio behind the popular fashion and lifestyle website De Jeunes Gens Modernes were willing to take a chance on their vision for a new kind of concept store. It didn’t take long for the world’s fashion-savvy to seek out their wares. At the Broken Arm, they stock a smart edit of men and women's fashion (Carven, Raf Simons, Hermès designer Christophe Lemaire, Kenzo and limited edition Nikes for a street vibe) and lifestyle pieces (stationery accessories, art magazines, jewelry), which are displayed across two floors.
But the added draw to this gorgeous corner spot is the adjacent coffee shop that boasts its own, loyal following. Well-trained baristas brew beans from Norwegian roasters Solberg & Hansen and serve everything from cappuccinos to filtered coffee alongside light, market-fresh breakfast and lunch fare. For something more substantial, finish the experience with a slice of the luscious cheesecake.—Lindsey Tramuta
