The Blacktail Forest is a new, modern restaurant in the heart of Gastown. The menu offers a wide array of tastes delivered through unusual food combinations.
The picture above shows a wild mushroom poutine and their take on fried chicken - with veggie beignets. We also had an amazing salmon in endive with pop rocks (a better version of the candy). The portions are relatively small and designed to be shared. The atmosphere is really causal and laid back, offered in a light and airy space. It is comfortably hip. Although not terribly crowded the mid-summer Friday evening we went, I would still recommend making reservations.
