Located a few blocks from Grand Valley State University's downtown Grand Rapids campus, The Bitter End is a staple in the West Fulton neighborhood.
Although small, this coffee shop offers a big selection of coffee drinks, along with other beverages like smoothies, tea, and italian sodas. With some 50+ syrup flavors you'll be sure to find one you like. They do offer some baked goods, but if you're coming here the chances are you're looking for coffee.
During the day you'll find the house mostly empty, other than a handful of college kids or businessman on break. Grab your drink, grab a table, and loose yourself in the photos and art covering all the walls. The bathroom itself is also worth a visit as it, too, is covered in art and boasts a "secret window." Don't worry, its one that you can see out of but not in. Browse the small selection of teas/coffees, participate in the book lending area, or just sit and day dream.
At night the place fills up and gets crowded, but it's still worth a visit. Since it's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you really don't have a reason to not stop by.
For parking, take a spot in front on the street if it's available or park across the street in one of the public lots at no charge.
