A Charming and Healthy Lunch Spot in The North Shore
Haleiwa in The North Shore of Oahu is the quaint epitome of a Hawaiian beach town that is as beautiful as it is laid back. There are some amazing places with fabulous local foods and great healthy options. One of my favorite places I went to on the island was a vegetarian place called The Beet Box Cafe. It’s located in the back of a small organic health food store and was recommended to me from the ladies down the street at Lanikai Juice. It’s small, bright and filled with happy employees who help you narrow down your choices, as all the options look equally enticing. Not a vegetarian? Neither am I, but the Beiruit Burger, made with falafel, and the Burrito Babe consisting of tofu, brown rice and tons of veggies, was enough to make me question if I would even miss meat. So whether you are buying a raw salad and their infamous Hawaiian iced coffee, or a "burger" with flavored iced tea, the options are healthy, fresh and leave you feeling satisfied.
