A Proper Sunday Roast at Basketmakers Arms
I met a few local ladies on one of my first nights in Brighton. They made it clear that I HAD to have a proper Sunday roast and that I HAD to have it at the Basketmakers Arms. I'm not one to argue with Brits about a proper Sunday roast, and I was glad I followed their advice.
The pub was filled to the brim with locals with their friends, local with their families, and even a few locals with their dogs. The roast menu changes daily based on what the chef rustles up at the market (they even have a vegetarian version). I went with the chef's recommendation of lamb and was not disappointed. Veggies and lamb were cooked to perfection, with delicious gravy and my first Yorkshire puddings. A must if you're in Brighton.
