Keeping Up with the Bachelor Farmer's Fresh Cuisine
Minneapolis’s Nordic heritage is getting a contemporary food facelift thanks to the Bachelor Farmer Restaurant. The renovated “Peer House” warehouse space now holds the restaurant, a “secret” basement cocktail bar, a clothing store, and a rooftop produce farm. It’s come a long way from its McMillan Fur & Wool–warehouse roots of the early 1900s. The chef infuses his simple, farm-friendly Midwest ideology into a unique reinterpretation of traditional Scandinavian cuisine. Sundays are a special day for the space, with brunch including a rotating variety of Smørrebrød and a prix-fixe supper.
