NYUAD Arts Center
International cultural institutions seem to pop up weekly in Abu Dhabi, but amid all the rapid change, the NYUAD Arts Center has quickly become a beacon for lovers of music, theater, and poetry from throughout the region. New York University’s campus in Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island has been open for three years and has hosted a number of avant-garde artists who have presented performances like a flamenco retelling of the Greek tragedy Antigone and a jazz concert that spanned 27 uninterrupted hours. The NYUAD Arts Center is always hosting something inspiring and intriguing in one of its technically cutting-edge venues—which range from a black-box space and an intimate 150-seat theater to a world-class music hall with 700 seats. Performances are constantly being added to their program, so be sure to check their website to see what will be happening during your visit to Abu Dhabi.
