Texas Civil War Museum
The Texas Civil War Museum in Fort Worth is a treasure trove of over 15,000 square feet of Civil War-era exhibition space—the largest Civil War museum west of the Mississippi River. Three separate galleries include the famed Ray Richey Civil War Collection of over 3,000 historic items; a Victorian-era dress collection; and a United Daughters of the Confederacy, Texas Confederate Collection. A specially commissioned film, "Our Home, Our Rights: Texas in the Civil War," is shown in the museum's 75-seat movie theater. The museum houses the largest collection of original Texas flags in the state, with sixty Texan flags that have been donated by veterans and their families.
