Wines, Vineyards and Passion
You arrive at this perfect place and time stands still. Visiting the Amalfi Coast in the Fall is spectacular. Most of the time, tourists don't even realize there is so much more to see then coastal towns. As beautiful as they are, behind all that beauty are true hidden gems. Organizing culinary trips is my passion and finding these gems is my goal each and every trip. Truly off the beaten path, is Tenuta San Francesco Vineyards, situated in Tremonti in the rugged Lattari Mountains. These mountains form the Sorrentine peninsula and the Amalfi Coast. Visiting the vineyards in the Fall is a feast for the eyes and tastebuds, as it is harvest season. The colours of the leaves amongst the largest grapes I have ever seen with blue and purples hues, growing from 600 year old vines. The rolling hills with the lush green backdrop of the Lattari Mountains can and will take your breath away. To feel the passion and love for the land and wine as the owner spends time to explain the vineyard, the meaning behind the wine labels, the history of the family, is beautiful. As he pours you a glass of red wine, you sit back and sip, close your eyes, and enjoy this wonderful wine, when you reopen your eyes, you look out amongst an area I can only describe as magical. I could of stayed for days taking pictures, to try and capture it all. Maybe next time around...
