In an island well known for its mass tourism, there is a shining light. JED Community Ecotours, links four local villages and one turtle conservation project whose passion is culture and environment of Bali. One village engaging in the program is Tenganan an ancient Bali Aga village, where you can trek with a local guide through farmland and forest,stop to chat with people working in the rice fields, and durian plantations before arriving at the village for a delicious local lunch of chicken, vegetable curry and jackfruit. In the village you can interact with the locals to see how they still practice the weaving of traditional grinsing and hear in detail the history of the Bali Aga people.
