Tenganan Manggis Indonesia

Several hundred of Bali’s indigenous people, the Bali Aga, live in Tenganan, a traditional village an hour from Ubud. The village is best known for gamelan music and the textile geringsing. Gamelan, a traditional ensemble music that predates the arrival of Hindu-Buddhist culture, is played on percussion instruments. Geringsing employs a more intensive dyeing technique than ikat, resulting in beautiful double ikat patterns.
