Located at the end of Frederikinkatu Street, Temppeliaukion Church is one of Helsinki’s architectural masterpieces. Completed in 1969, the church was excavated directly into the bedrock and uses nature’s raw elements to convey divine inspiration. The shallow dome over the top is ringed with skylights so when sunlight floods through, it shimmers off the church's rock formations and birch wood benches.
