Tavern on the Square
Westmount Square is one of the city’s iconic buildings, designed in the modernist style by
Montreal architect Phyllis Lambert, and on the basement floor of it you’ll find this lively, welcoming brasserie. Make an after-work date at the bar for martinis with a friend, or reserve a table for a dinner of steak, seared sea scallops on a bed of succotash, or the richest mac’n’cheese in town, among the vast choice of wonderful pastas. With its dim lighting, its nice mezzanine area and, in the summer, its terrace on Rue Sainte-Catherine, it’s dripping with atmosphere.
