The privately run three-hectare (eight-acre) Reserva Ecológica Tauá, just outside the main town of Armação dos Búzios (close enough to reach by a leisurely bicycle ride), is a nice getaway from the buzz of the resort scene. Along its trails, visitors can explore native scrub vegetation and more than 30 species of bromeliads and orchids. Butterflies and monkeys also make their home in the park.
