The Wings of Tatev is the world's longest aerial tramway and worth the trip from Armenia's capital city of Yerevan to the Tatev region. The Swiss-Austrian built tram is unique in that it only has three towers for the nearly 5800m/3.6 mile trip. With stunning views of Tatev's jagged and mysterious mountains, the 12 minute trip soars 1000 feet about the ground its winding roads. When you go, be sure to carve time to see the Tatev Monastery, known as the "King of Monasteries" in Armenia. Noravank Monastery, about 3 hours by car north of Tatev is the "Queen of Monasteries".
