Peruvian Bistro Fare from Gaston Acurio
T’anta is the chain of bistros from the restaurant empire of celebrity chef Gaston Acurio. While you could order the tasting trio of his classic ceviche, calamari, and causa (a cylindrical layered potato salad with spicy seafood filling), which is also offered at his flagship Astrid y Gaston and popular cevicheria, La Mar, the real emphasis at T'anta is on sandwiches and pasta (the restaurant’s name means “bread” in the local Quechua language). Don’t leave without trying the suspiro de limeña (a rich custard topped with Port meringue), prepared by Gaston’s wife Astrid.
