Talisker DistilleryThe oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye, Talisker is set on the shores of Loch Harport, with dramatic views of the rocky Cuillin mountain range. Here, distillers produce an alluringly sweet, full-bodied single malt, heavily influenced by the surrounding landscape. Visitors can take guided distillery tours, which include a taste of Talisker’s award-winning single-malt Scotch, or enjoy informal tastings of several expressions. For the full experience, book the Talisker Tasting Tour, which includes a tutored tasting of five top whiskies.

Learn about Scottish poet Robert Louis Stevenson's favorite whisky on a tour of this distillery, founded in 1830. The journey to Carbost, partially along the coastal road, is worthwhile for the views of the jagged Cuillin mountains and eagles soaring overhead. The site tour sheds light on the traditional production process, which uses copper pot stills, worm pots ("worm" refers to the coiled copper tubes) and oak casks, and includes a tasting of the famous full-bodied single malt.
