Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art
The 1920s building in the Datong district that houses MoCA was once city government offices and, before that, a school. In 2001, it reopened as the art museum, with a heavy emphasis on contemporary Taiwanese and international artists working in all mediums, including photography, video, graphic design and architecture. In 2017, MoCA put on a landmark LGBTQ-themed show, the first to be hosted at a state-run museum in Asia.
