Students' Parade at Tainan National University of the Arts
Tainan National University of the Arts has a beautiful lush campus set in a relatively rural region. There is a fairly large population of international visiting professors each semester. Campus highlights include a cafeteria with surprisingly good food and a 7-11 (a common site in Taiwan) stocked with every kind of tea you can imagine. There is also a reservoir and hiking paths around the campus. In the small town, you must see the carvings at the local temple and just walk around to get a feel for the daily life there. During my stay, I was lucky enough to witness a parade put on by the students in which each department designed and crafted its own sculptural contribution. There were some amazing pieces.
