Taggia is located inside Kimpton’s FireSky Resort & Spa. It’s a charming Mediterranean-inspired restaurant where Chef Massimo De Francesca creates his version of coastal Italian fare. Fresh fish (flown in daily) accompanies cured meats, homemade pasta and wood oven-fired pizzas. It’s straightforward food that is always solid and tasty. While the interior is warm and inviting – think earthy browns and sandy beige with touches of rustic orange – my favorite spot is the outside patio, where the atmosphere is livelier and you get a view of FireSky’s lagoon pool. November through April, on the last Saturday of the month, Chef De Francesca takes hotel guests and diners to the nearby Old Town Scottsdale Farmer’s Market. You’ll shop with him for local produce and gourmet items then return to Taggia for his expertly prepared meal using your ingredients. The three-course lunch includes Arizona wines and starts at $60 per couple.
