Tacology at Brickell City Centre Combines Mexican Comfort Food with Tech-OrdersBrickell City Centre, which opened to the delight of urban downtown residents and visitors, gradually brought fantastic retail options to Brickell, along with pedestrian friendly walkways and esthetically pleasing design. It wasn't until the plaza started opening great restaurants that locals really started heading there - let's face it, we all can't take advantage of the high-end offerings that the tourists to. One of the best dining options is Tacology, a fun 205- seat indoor/outdoor taco spot, where the service is two fold. In addition to having an attractive server give you the details on margaritas the size of your head, there's also the ordering process which is all via iPad. Take a seat under the colorful lanterns in a cool breezeway overlooking Brickell City Centre's massive halls. The layout is Mercado-style, which means that the layout resembles a market. At the helm is Executive Chef Santiago Gomez, who serves up a playful menu with five different sections. On the iPad, choose between tacos, ceviche, juices and salads, desserts and an endless bar section of creative cocktails, margaritas and tiki-style drinks with Mexican flair. Food is delivered in no particular order and it's kind of addicting with the iPad so close. It's easy to add items onto your bill, especially when you see shrimp tacos dipped in a savory sauce served in shot glasses passing by. Menu highlights include the Tacos al Pastor, filled with roasted pork and marinated in Chile Guajillo ($7), and the Special Ribeye with Mexican chorizo, crispy Chicharron and salsa ($10.50). A must try - the Lobster Taco made with butter poached lobster, black beans, yellow rice and creamy Chipotle sauce ($14).
