Have drinks at a speakeasy under the streets of Athens
In the heart of Athens, in the warren of narrow streets not far from Syntagma, those in the know (or intrepid enough to find out the coordinates) frequent a drinks spot that harkens back to a whole other era: of prohibition and 1920s America. (Location intentionally not given away here.) Buzz at the non-descript door, and you’ll find yourself descending a flight of stairs beneath the streets. There, you’ll come across a second door (no buzzing required). Beyond that, a whole other world — and some splendid cocktails — await.
